Latest rankings feature three new teams in the mix
More than two months into the typical youth hockey season, we see more and more teams building their collective resumes with each passing week. Our latest ‘06 rankings revealed a new team at the top as well as adding three programs to the mix previously left outside the Top 25.
With a 12-1-0 record since Oct. 10th, the Boston Jr. Eagles have left little doubt in the minds of the WHH committee that they’re the top team to beat at the 2006-birth year. The Jr. Eagles have plenty of offensive standouts, including forwards Tyler Kelly and Jack Sadowski. They’ve helped fuel a high-powered offensive that’s produced five-or-more goals in 16-of-27 games this season.
The North Jersey Avalanche became one of the only programs in the world to rank in the Top 25 at the ‘04, ‘05 and ‘06 levels, after the ‘06s went from unranked to 12th in our latest rankings. Sweden-based Näcka HK and Rhode Island’s Mount St. Charles also made their debuts, checking in at No. 21 and No. 23 respectively.
